What Defines Success For You, As A Leader?

what defines success for you as a leader

How do you define success? For some, it might be the number of people they can employ. For others, it may be how much money they make in a year. But for bold and conscious leaders and entrepreneurs, their definition of success is more personal than that. What is your definition of success mean to you? This article will explore different ways that leaders and entrepreneurs define their own successes so that we can all learn from each other.

The traditional definition of success

For most people, success is attached to their purchasing power, wealth, status, and power.  In many cases, these things are what people think of when they hear the word “success”.

Many people want to be successful because it gives them power and prestige. Those who have a lot of money also feel that they can influence society in a large way. They are given more access to better healthcare, education, and opportunities for their children.

However, not all successful people define success in this way. Some of them may have the money but do they also have the happiness?

Leaders who define success differently

John Maxwell, very well says, “Leadership is not about titles, positions or flowcharts. It is about one life influencing another.”

According to John Maxwell it’s no surprise that most people will say that you are successful if you have a lot of money. But he says that being successful is not just about how much money you have, but also who you have in your life. If you have the right people around you, this means that you are more successful than the person who has no one to share his life with!

If success in leadership is about influencing others, we can say that the leader’s success depends on how successful he or she can make others feel or if their best interests are being served by the leader.

The Rise of Conscious Leadership

Consciousness is simply the ability to be aware of yourself and your surroundings. You know how you feel, what your needs are, what you like and dislike, and why. Conscious living requires that we listen carefully to our inner voice – our intuition. Our intuition is there to guide us through the good times as well as the bad ones.

Approaching your career, financial, or personal goals with a conscious mindset is adopting the attitude that you are going to be responsible for your life and not let any outside forces take over.
